Coconut oil has many benefits, as well as being the best nourishing oil used in today’s market to penetrate the hair and scalp it is also known for its antibacterial properties, therefore this is why we have chosen to use it in our shampoo bars. This delightful shampoo bar will give you that invigorating boost in the morning and the fragrance will have you daydreaming of coconut lotion and warm sunny beaches in no time. 500g Sodium Coco Sulphate Noodles
50g BTMS 50
25g Cetyl Alcohol
25g Coconut Oil
10g Witch Hazel
15g Coconut Fragrance Oil*
10g Polyquaternium Conditioning Agent 39
10g Coconut Milk Powder
100g Toasted Coconut
*Important you need a coconut frgrance oil that has a very low vanilla content, otherwise your coconut shampoo bars will turn into lamingtons !!!
Instructions
In a pyrex jug place BTMS 50, cetyl alcohol, coconut oil and polyquat 39 and place jug in a double boiler until melted and clear, you can also use the microwave method at 20 second blasts until fully melted. In a large bowl place your sodium coco sulphate and coconut milk powder. Add your melted ingredints and combine. add witch hazel, Coconut Rain fragrance oil and mix well. You should now have sticky mix which resembles the centre of a Bounty Bar.
Sprinkle some toasted coconut in the bottom of your mould and squish as much of the mix in as you can and add another sprinkle of toasted coconut, then press down as hard as you can to compress. A hand press works best for this but you can also use a moon press or cookie cutters. Allow to set in a dry place for 48 hours before pakaging.
